#STEAM BORDERLANDS 2 SEASON PASS FREE#
I'm certainly not stupid enough to buy any of this crap (I did buy the season's pass) but that doesn't mean I give gearbox a free pass for dredging the bottom of the barrel with $100 dlc scams designed to bleed the foolish and stupid of their money.
#STEAM BORDERLANDS 2 SEASON PASS UPGRADE#
People are rightfully complaining about on-disc dlc from capcom, ea's money-grubbing online passes, and other scams, so why should gearbox be exempt from criticism when they're bleeding the ocd crowd dry with $100 'rare item chests' and then kicking them in the groin with a level 72 upgrade that makes all the weapons/items obsolete? JackWhyte wrote: ↑it affects my view of gearbox the company, as well it or any other micro-transaction cash-grab should. there is even talk they may start selling gold keys on live/psn/steam like freemium games do with "gold coins". is just a terrible precedent that prays on the weak-minded and foolish. Like you, I have no problem with the season's pass (I bought it) or the actual new gameplay levels, but this micro/macro-transaction cash-grab for guns, items, skins, heads, etc. that's why there is a phase 2 for dlc, so gearbox can issue another few sets of $100 dlc chests. I kind of feel sorry for these suckers as gearbox is bleeding them dry and they can't seem to break loose. some ocd gamers have openly spent thousands of dollars on these rare dlc items, and all now have serious buyer's remorse now that gearbox have announced a level cap upgrade to 72. No one is buying it for the case, it's the 'ultra rare item dlc cards' that people are paying $100 for, and there are multiple versions of the cases and random items in each.
